UPDATE 5/1/2020 -
BREAKING NEWS: Section V Athletics Spring Sports are Cancelled 5/1/2020 11:50:00 AM Earlier today, Governor Cuomo announced that schools in New York state will remain closed for in person learning for the remainder of the school year. As a result, Section V and its member schools have cancelled all remaining spring sports. While continuously remaining hopeful for some type of regular season play, the complexity of the current health crisis will not allow us to do so. Kathy Hoyt states: "As Executive Director of Section V athletics, I want to commend the school districts, athletic administrators and coaches for their dedication to the student athletes during this very challenging situation. Most importantly, I want to acknowledge the resiliency and commitment of our wonderful student athletes. They have remained focused and positive throughout. Section V would like to wish all our seniors the best of luck as they prepare to begin their next chapter in life. It is our hope that your time spent as an athlete is Section V was enjoyable and rewarding. Class of 2020 – thank you for the wonderful memories!!!" UPDATE 4/7/2020 - The Governor has extended school closures until April 29th, and the Regents exams for June have been cancelled. NYSPHSAA will have a final determination on State Championships by April 27th. How this plays out locally for the spring season remains to be seen. Once we have more information, we will let you know ****************************************************** Dues will not be due until we do have another meeting. If you have already paid and there is no baseball season, you will have the choice of: 1. reimbursement, or 2. applying the dues to next year. Nominations for Board of Directors positions are on hold at this time. As soon as we get any updates from Section V, NYSPHSAA, or NYSBUA we will be sure to pass the information on to you all. Please look after yourself and your families during this time.
